Thank You, Food Basket Family! Thanks to our basket packers, delivery drivers, callers, inventoriers, and donors, more than 900 of our neighbors were provided food for a hearty Thanksgiving meal and also staple items which we hope will last them well beyond Thanksgiving Day. The 220 baskets we prepared were filled nearly 10,000 food items that were donated over the past two months or purchased using donated funds.
Well, even though we haven’t sliced the turkey or passed the sweet potatoes, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. The Christmas Food Baskets will be packed beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, in the CUMC fellowship Hall. As of today, we start off the Christmas effort with support for roughly 60 baskets and we have a long way to go to reach our goal of 220 baskets by December 16. So please consider sponsoring a basket for $75 (or more or less as you are able) by placing your donation in the offering during worship at CUMC, or by visiting our online contribution center. There will also be a number of volunteer opportunities between now and the 16th, so keep an eye on your email!
