Rev. Ellen LaCroix FilletteAssociate Pastor
Elllen LaCroix Fillette was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and grew up in a close family in the United Methodist church. She felt her call to the ministry when she was still in high school, and has known ever since that time that it is what she needs to be doing. She graduated from LSU with a degree in psychology and Bible studies and moved to Virginia to attend Wesley Theological Seminary. While all of her family was still back in Louisiana, two things brought her to Wesley: her close family connections and a younger brother who had been appointed to the Naval Academy. While attending Wesley, Ellen was the president of her class, served at Trinity United Methodist Church in McLean for three years, and married her husband, Matt, who is also from Louisiana, and who now works for the State Department.
One of Pastor LaCroix Fillette’s strengths is in building community, and she was drawn to CUMC because of its diversity, its many small groups, its involved mission work, its passionate congregation, and the opportunity to become part of an active church family.
