A Time to Speak!
Talk on racism makes us uncomfortable. Yet the church is called to speak the truth in love, and the Christian life is often times anything but comfortable. There have been stories and graphic scenes of racism in the news in the past 6 months, and we have heard news anchors, politicians, and social workers speak out, and activists and protesters act out. Instead of tuning such talk out and desiring that it just go away, what better place than in the church to talk about what continues to plague our nation. We want to celebrate how far we have come, but events in the past year remind us that the beloved community Martin Luther King, Jr. longed for is still more of a hope than a present reality. Come join us as we worship the Lord, grow in love and seek to be disciples who offer hope in the name of Christ.
