Our November sermon series will be “Won’t You Be My Neighbor.” Join us for a deeper dive into the topic, as we study the book, The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers: Spiritual Insights From the World’s Most Beloved Neighbor, by Amy Hollingsworth. Using puppets instead of a pulpit, this icon of children’s television shared with America’s youngsters the basic principles of the Christian faith – forgiveness, kindness, compassion, respect – and made those values real for his audience. Let’s discover the spiritual legacy of this Presbyterian minister who said “When we look for what’s best in the person we happen to be with at the moment, we’re doing what God does; so in appreciating our neighbor, we’re participating in something truly sacred.”
Movie Night! To wrap up the study, we will be showing the documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” on Friday, November 22 at 7:00 PM in the ROC. All are encouraged to come, eat some popcorn, watch the show, and engage in some discussion afterwards.
