Potato Drop

The Potato Drop will be on October 31, and will operate under strict COVID protocols.  At the Potato Drop we will bag and distribute 45,000 lbs of potatoes in partnership with Society of St. Andrew (SOSA).  We need volunteers for a variety of functions.

The potato drop will be held outdoors, weather permitting, and in the Recreation and Outreach Center  and Fellowship Hall if weather is poor.  Even if held indoors, there will be open doors, so dress appropriately for cold weather.

Most volunteers will be needed to help re-bag the potatoes from the large 50lb bags into smaller 10lb bags for distribution.  If you will be working at a bagging table, there are 2 slots for each table.  Individual volunteers may sign up for one slot, and you will be working at opposite ends of a long table with one other person.  If you are working as a family, please take both slots for that table.  Up to 4 family members can work together at one table.   Please list ALL family members' names in the comments section of the signup.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE AND COMPLETE A COVID LIABILITY WAIVER FOR SOSA.

All participants will be required to wear a mask, to social distance, and to follow all healthy church protocols.

Some jobs require experience or heavy lifting, while others are available to anyone, please read the descriptions before signing up.

With questions, please contact Phil Mohr at pmohr@centreville-umc.org.
