Afghan Refugee Relief

If you, your family, your small group, ministry team, friend/neighborhood group, scout group, or sports team would like to help with Afghan refugee resettlement, here is an immediate opportunity to help.  You can create a  “Welcome Home Gift Box” to help welcome our new neighbors as they resettle in our area.  There are four different types of gift boxes listed below.   Note – all items must be new.

Please place all of the items into a box or bin, and label the box with the type of welcome box you have created.  You may bring the box by the church and place it in the lobby near the church office.  Boxes may be brought to the church on Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, or on Sunday mornings.

These boxes will be distributed through the refugee resettlement program of Lutheran Social Services.

If you have Afghan language and/or cultural competency, and would like to use those in support of the refugees, please email Phil Mohr at  The languages spoken most commonly by the refugees are Dari, Pashto, Farsi and Urdu.

There will be additional opportunities to support our Afghan brothers and sisters later so please check back for additional ways to get involved.
