Centre Ridge Elementary School Spaghetti Dinner Pictures

On Wednesday, teams of volunteers cooked a delicious spaghetti dinner here at CUMC, served the meal to members of the Centre Ridge Elementary School (CRES) community, and provided engaging games and activities for children while parents met with school administrators.  What an incredible opportunity to support this school community, and demonstrate Christ’s love for our neighbors. Thank you to all those who helped to make this event so successful.

The CRES CARE Team sent us this note of appreciation:

The food service set-up seemed to flow smoothly with the servers ready to help. Having the drinks in ready to go pre-filled cups was smart. The individually packaged desserts was a brilliant idea!  The well prepared activities, “passports’, and prize choices prepared for the children provided huge excitement for our students! Many have never experienced anything like that!  The set-up and clean-up crews were so helpful and willing to pitch in where needed! And to the volunteers who behind the scenes planned the event, purchased items, cooked, baked, prepackaged food and toys, mixed drinks a HUGE THANK YOU!!

Please let your gracious volunteers know that the Centre Ridge Elementary (CRES) community is VERY grateful for their dedication to effort, their amazing flexibility, and genuine kindness!  Hearing feedback from our families, we now know that the event turned out to be much more than we expected in helping increase a sense of community, our ultimate goal! We hope our school community attendees will spread the word to other school friends.

From the bottom of our hearts, we send our thanks to you Phil and Barb and to the Centreville United Methodist Church Community for your dedication and generosity in serving our families through this event and your ongoing commitment to our “Friday Friends” food program.  You are AMAZING!

With our profound gratitude,

The CRES CARE Team
