Loving God Through Loving Others
Since service is essential to your faith, we encourage you, our youth, to participate and serve as Christ's witnesses in order to help our brothers and sisters in need. As hands and feet of the Lord, you can help share His great love throughout the community.
Teens Opposing Poverty
You can serve the homeless in DC with CUMC through Teens Opposing Poverty. Youth prepare, package and distribute food and talk with homeless people through TOP’s street ministry. Our "Cinco de Mayo" TOP Trip, a special occasion where tacos are distributed, is a favorite of CUMC Youth. For more information on TOP, please visit their website at www.teensopposingpoverty.org.
An emergency care form needs to be on file for all Youth TOP participants. You can download a form here: http://centreville-umc.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Youth-Emergency-Care-Form-2019.pdf
A day-of permission form is needed for those who already have a form on file. This form needs to be filled out and signed EVERY TOP trip. Forms will be available day-of TOP events or can be downloaded here: day-of-permission-form
As a part of the FACETS Hot Meals program, CUMC youth and adults deliver warm and healthy dinners to their neighbors in need living near Fairfax Circle.

Appalachia Service Project
Appalachia Service Project (ASP) is a Christian Ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia. CUMC youth and adults serve each year with ASP to help provide home repairs and additions to families in those communities.

Middle School Mission Week
Each August, our middle schoolers take a week out of their summer to learn about and participate in local mission opportunities. Our hope is that this week will encourage our youth to take a more active role in supporting their own community moving forward.
Each summer, a mission team of youth and adults travel to Sneedville, TN to serve the community through construction projects, backyard bible school, and nursing home and ladies' group ministries. Throughout the week the Sneedville mission team centers on God by building relationships with each other and the community residents.

Other Food Ministries
GRACE Ministries is a community outreach program that serves low-income immigrant families in the local community. You can serve passionately as shopping cart runners and children's craft corner volunteers.

On the first Sunday of each month, our youth participate in You Feed Others (UFOs) and help pack food bags for local elementary school students who don't have enough to eat on weekends.
