Imagine the wise men’s surprise when they got to the market and found they had some competition for cookie sales! Those choir members with the angelic voices they had recently heard were selling cookies too. Because Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthasar were so impatient while baking their own wares, they had very little to sell. Their eyes then drifted over to the choir’s cookies. They looked especially tasty. Perhaps they could procure one box for the long road ahead? At this rate, our travelers were never going to be able to finance the rest of their trip to find the King. They were spending more than they were making!
Today's Quote: “We spend so much of our lives trying to balance out some kind of equation for life. Like if were do all the “right” things, then life will finally add up. But then real life happens. We did all the things we were supposed to do and the addiction still has a grip, the doctor still has no answers, a relationship is still not what it should be. Even if you have tried everything -prayer, positive vibes, hard work -nothing seems to change. It just simply doesn’t add up. There is no magic formula to get what you deserve, and there is no equation that can predict what will happen next. But God is not a mathematician either. Just look at grace. God sent God’s only son to show us that there is no way to measure, or count, or add up the ways that God loves. It is a formula we can never wrap our minds around. And thank God for that bad, bad math. (Kate Bowler)
Today's Microchallenge: Eat a cookie. Not spiritual enough for you? Eat a cookie, and take a nap. Don’t be like our magi and be too wise in your own eyes for the wisdom of preschool. There is more hope for a fool than for them 😉
