The following is a devotion written by Dixie Mayall:

For the last six nights, I’ve been sleeping on our family room sofa.  When people have commented that I look tired, I tell them about sleeping on the sofa.  Of course their next question is “What did Bill do?”   What Bill did and always has done is be supportive of my decisions to volunteer.  You see, right now one of the three puppies we have been fostering has still not been adopted.  Being by herself during the night time scares her.  When I hear her cry or call out, I’m able to tell her it’s okay and not to be afraid.  God is like this.  When we’re scared and afraid, God is there watching over us and giving us comfort.  In our darkest moments, we need not be afraid.  God is there.
