Wednesday Devotion with Ric Swao
Have you ever felt like God is asking you to do something? We are all challenged to respond by faith, especially when doing what God is asking. Faith connects us with God through prayer, reading the bible, etc. Mark 11: 22-23 (NIV), “Have faith in God, Jesus answered. Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea, ‘and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them”
Today we may find ourselves experiencing challenges; especially now during these difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we should have faith. Our faith in God is never wasted. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV), “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Over the years, God has taught me so much about what it means to trust Him, to have faith in Him. There are so many examples in my life that I can reflect on, when my trust and faith in God were tested. The one take-away that I have learned from my personal experiences is that sometimes things just happen that I simply do not understand why. In those times, I trust that God knows and have faith that God will take care of it. So often, I go back to the faith message in John 3:16 (NIV), “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
God is always on your side. God is fighting for you through the challenges in your life. We can trust that God is with us through every challenge we face.
Prayer:” Lord God, during difficult seasons of life, it is easy to be discouraged. In those hard times, help me place my faith in you. I ask you for your gift of faith. Help me grow in faith each day. Help me embrace your blessings and gifts in my life. Amen."
Thank you so much for reading my perspective of faith in today's devotion. I hope it encouraged you to trust God.
