Lenten Reflection Day 33 - by Kim Wu
John 10:14 “The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.”
From Father Richard Rohr, in his Daily Mediations from the Center for Action and Contemplation: “I believe that faith might be precisely that ability to trust the Big River of God’s providential love, which is to trust its visible embodiment (the Christ), the flow (the Holy Spirit), and the source itself (the Creator).”
This River is flowing through each one of us, and we are each a part of this Big River. “Faith does not need to push the river precisely because it is able to trust that there is a river. The river is flowing; we are already in it.”
Since we are part of this flow of water, we are called to be like Christ. To take part in letting “justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.” (Amos 5:24)
Lord, I pray that You will be more and more at home in my heart, living within me as I trust in You. May my roots go down deep into the soil of Your marvelous love; and may I be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high Your love really is; and to experience this love for myself, though it is so great that I will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last I will be filled up with You. Amen (Based on Ephesians 3:17-19
