Joy grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from Washington-Lee High School. Four years later, she graduated from the University of Virginia with a B. A. in Economics. There she met and married her favorite dance partner, Jorge. Together Joy and Jorge have raised and homeschooled their four children – Anthony, Christopher, Michael and Rachel. Throughout homeschooling Joy was very active in many aspects of children’s ministry and VBS. When her youngest began high school Joy re-entered the work force. She has taught P.E. to K-8th grade at Ad Fontes Academy for the last five years. Now she is delighted to be able to serve Christ by ministering to the children and families here at CUMC.
Joy enjoys reading, playing strategy games and listening to praise and worship music.
