"May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself." ~Ephesians 17b-19 (TLB)
Our Vision
Here at Centreville United Methodist Church the program vision of Children’s ministry is “to ignite a love of Jesus through faith, family and friends.” Not just encourage faith development. Not just support our families. Not just develop godly friendships. We want to ignite a desire in our children to learn about Jesus, to truly love Jesus and be able to grasp how wide, how long, how high and how deep is Jesus’ love for them. And then, burning brightly, to go out and share Jesus’ love with others.
To pursue that vision we strive to make CUMC a safe place where children can do just that - learn about God, grow in their faith and reach out to share God’s love with others. So what does this mean exactly?
Safe Sanctuary
We want our kids to feel safe. We work hard to provide safe classrooms and programs by pre-screening our teachers, volunteers and child care workers and implementing consistent safety procedures regarding staffing, sign-in and sign-out procedures, and CPR and First Aid certification. We abide by an open doors policy, commitment to positive discipline and two leader rule.
