Each summer, a mission team of youth and adults travel to Sneedville, TN, a small town in Hancock County, to serve throughout the community. Hancock County is one of the most financially disadvantage counties in the U.S. Throughout the week the mission team centers on God, seeking to be in partnership in God’s mission. Devotion, praise and worship are an important element of each day. The team serves in the community in four areas of ministry – construction; a Vacation Bible School program; a nursing home ministry; and a women’s program. The team works closely with Jubilee Project, a United Methodist ministry.

At Christmas, gifts are collected for children and adults in need in the community and transported for personal delivery by some of those who want to remain connected with the community throughout the year. This is a very special opportunity to bring the spirit of Christ to many children and adult nursing home residents who normally go without many of the things taken for granted in our society. The gift requests are for basic necessities such as cloths and shoes but many participants contribute with extravagant generosity.
