TWO COATS
As cozy as the caroling had been, the best part had been giving away their chocolate! Caspar even began giving away his gold, and miraculously the bag would never stay empty. They found the Angel Tree at Centreville United Methodist Church and began buying items for folks! They barely recognized themselves. What fruit was this? They found that the more they gave away, the more they had, and they began to feel at peace. Even their camels got in on the act and shaved off their hair to donate towards making coats. Years later, John the Baptist would wear the very camel hair they gave during his ministry! (Well, he could have -but probably didn’t. Okay he didn’t)
SCRIPTURE
Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance. So the people asked him, saying “What shall we do then?” He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.” (Luke 3:8. 10-11)
FOOLISH WISDOM
That night, Balthazar dreamed he walked into a brand-new shop in the marketplace and to his surprise, found God behind the counter.
“What do you sell here?” asked Balthazar.
“Everything your heart desires.” said God.
Balthazar could hardly believe what he heard, he asked for everything a person could wish for. “I want peace of mind and love and happiness and wisdom and freedom from fear, but most of all peace of mind and not just for myself, for everyone on earth.”
God smiled, “I think you’ve misunderstood Balthazar, we don’t sell fruits here. Only seeds.
PRAYER
