Project: Institutional Development Lead with the United Methodist Mission in Honduras

Edwin Campomanes Ramirez is a Global Missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries, serving as Institutional Development Lead with the United Methodist Mission in Honduras. His assignment focuses on strengthening the institutional, administrative, financial, and governance capacities of the national church to ensure accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability in its ministries and congregational life.

Gifted in business management, financial administration, and organizational development, Mr. Campomanes Ramirez works closely with national leadership, pastors, program directors, and international partners to develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls. His work supports approximately 20 United Methodist congregations in Honduras, as well as ministries such as schools, clinics, and feeding centers, which serve communities facing significant social and economic challenges.

The United Methodist Mission in Honduras operates in a context marked by poverty, migration pressures, limited access to healthcare, and educational vulnerability. In response, the national church requires strong institutional systems that allow it to steward resources responsibly while remaining faithful to its pastoral and missional calling. Mr. Campomanes Ramirez’s placement responds directly to this need, particularly in areas such as financial accountability, risk management, donor compliance, asset oversight, and organizational strengthening.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Campomanes Ramirez served for five years in Guatemala as Assistant for Institutional Development with the Iglesia Evangélica Nacional Metodista Primitiva de Guatemala (IENMPG). In that role, he supported the national church in developing financial and administrative systems, strengthening stewardship practices, and accompanying congregations and leadership through institutional growth and transition processes. This experience provided a strong foundation for his current work in Honduras.

Spiritually, Mr. Campomanes Ramirez understands mission as a response to God’s ongoing work in the world. Daily prayer, Scripture, and Christian fellowship sustain his faith and guide his service. His call to mission was shaped through early volunteer experiences accompanying mission teams, where he encountered firsthand the realities behind social statistics and discovered a deep commitment to serving the church holistically.

Born in Mexico, Mr. Campomanes Ramirez studied Business Management at the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla and later completed a Master’s degree in Logistics and International Trade at Universidad Anáhuac, Mexico. Prior to his missionary service, he worked in the financial sector with Scotiabank Mexico, gaining professional experience in banking operations and financial analysis, which now are part of his vocation in mission.
