About us
At Centreville Day School (CDS), we believe in encouraging the development of the whole child. This includes supporting a child in growth of their social, emotional, spiritual, physical, language/literacy, and thinking/cognitive skills. We achieve this through a combination of student led (free play) and teacher initiated (guided play) learning opportunities.
Family interest and involvement is encouraged as we know that a strong family-school relationship is key to a successful preschool program. Opportunities to attend school when their child is the “leader” for the day, be a guest class reader, or plan class parties are just a few of the ways we encourage families to partner with us. Families are always welcome!
A mission of Centreville United Methodist Church, Centreville Day School is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services.
Centreville Day School (CDS) admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at CDS. CDS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its education policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and other school-administered programs.
Preschool Programs
Extended Day Program- Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch is an optional 1 hour and 45 minute lunch extension open to CDS preschool children aged 3 and older currently enrolled in the 3’s, PK4’s, and PK5’s classes. Inclement Weather Policy
Centreville Day School follows Fairfax County Public School (FCPS) decisions for school closings due to inclement weather. These school closing decisions are available online at www.fcps.edu.
1) If FCPS is closed, CDS will also be closed. 2) If FCPS opens 1 or 2 hours late, CDS will open from 10:00-12:00 3) If FCPS closes early, please pick up children from school immediately. If a decision is made to close the CUMC Building due to dangerous conditions and FCPS is open, we will communicate this information as soon as possible via email.
