Faithful Resistance: Public Witness for Immigrant Justice in Photos

On February 25, a group from Centreville UMC shared in a holy day in Washington, D.C., as our prayers were embodied with every step we took in our march to the US Capitol. As we joined in a day of "Faithful Resistance: A Public Witness for Immigrant Justice," we experienced a powerful time of prayer, heard inspiring messages, and shared in a visible act of support and solidarity with our immigrant brothers and sisters. We were reminded that the social principles of The United Methodist Church call us to be more than observers. We stood together to call for just and fair immigration policies and enforcement practices which are in keeping with sound theological and moral teaching.
Our time in Washington, D.C. was also a meaningful time of connection within the United Methodist Church community, as we reunited with former clergy and staff members and stood alongside others across our connection who are committed to immigration justice.
