Lenten Devotion Day 12 – Beauty Out of Brokenness

March 7

2 Cor 4:7-10

But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.  We are afflicted in every way but not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair, persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed,  always carrying around in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies.

Media:  Artist Makoto Fujimura shares how the Japanese art of kintsugi, which means golden joinery, brings beauty out of brokenness.

Response:  Where have you seen God create beauty out of brokenness? How does God speak to you through the arts?

Prayer Focus:  That God would bring beauty out of the brokenness in our world, in our community, in our church, in ourselves.
