Lenten Devotion – What’s So Good About Good Friday?

April 7

Isaiah 53: 5-6

But he was wounded for our transgressions,
crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the punishment that made us whole,
and by his bruises we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have all turned to our own way,
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

Media:  What’s So Good About Good Friday?

Response:  Good Friday is both the end and the beginning. It is the end of the suffering of the earthly Jesus, and the beginning of eternal hope and eternal life.  How will I live differently today, knowing that I share in God’s new beginning?

Prayer Focus:   Lord, help me to experience  the new beginnings you offer, and help me share that hope with others.
